The Americano Highball, a simple, bittersweet cocktail made with just three ingredients, is a favorite of Parlor bartenders.
The drink, which became popular in the early part of the 20th century, stands the test of time. It’s perfect for those who want to enjoy a cocktail but don’t want to overdo it, which also happens to make it perfect as a seasonal holiday sipper.
Another fun fact about this ruby-hued drink: It was an early favorite of James Bond, and appears in several Ian Flemming novels.
To make one, follow Parlor’s recipe below. And note: you won’t need any special tools for this one, either.
- 1.5 oz Carpano Antica Sweet Vermouth
- 1.5 oz Campari
- Club soda
- Pour 1.5 oz Vermouth and 1.5 oz Campari into a highball glass over a cube of ice.
- Stir, then top with club soda and serve.
